Lifelong Major League Baseball fan and 2015 AMSC Alum Lee Mendelowitz has been named the new Senior Director of Research and Development for the Washington Nationals. He will be replacing Mondry-Cohen, formerly an assistant general manager with Washington.

Mendelowitz joined the organization in 2014 while still pursuing his Ph.D. at AMSC. He has since moved from analyst to senior analyst, then Director of Baseball Research, and will now be leading the Nationals’ Research and Development department.

Mendelowitz earned a Ph.D. in applied mathematics from the AMSC program in 2015. He also holds an undergraduate degree in applied engineering and physics from Cornell.
