AMSC Academic Program

AMSC offers academic programs that lead to either an M.S. or a Ph.D. degree in Applied Mathematics, Applied Statistics and Scientific Computation. The M.S. degree may be earned either with or without a thesis.

The AMSC Program also offers an academic program that leads to a graduate certificate in Scientific Computation for students who obtain degrees from certain other graduate programs at the University of Maryland, College Park.

Note on 400 Level Courses

It is expected that course requirements will be met with courses at the 600-800 level.  In some circumstances, it may be appropriate for students to use 400-level material to complement topics covered by core graduate material.  Plans for this should be made in consultation with the graduate director.
