AMSC Professor Michelle Girvan Recognized as a 2022 Distinguished Scholar-Teacher

Professor Michelle Girvan was recognized as a 2022-2023 Distinguished Scholar-Teacher by the University of Maryland. The University of Maryland’s Distinguished Scholar-Teacher Award “honors senior tenured members of the faculty who combine outstanding scholarly accomplishment with excellence in teaching and personify our image of the professoriate.” Professor Girvan teaches in the Physics Department and is an AMSC-affiliated faculty member, and her work focuses on network science while combining physics and applied mathematics. She has a long history of excellence as a researcher and a faculty member, and this recognition is the latest in her achievements.
