Former AMSC Director Konstantina Trivisa Named A 2023 Society of Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) Fellow

Konstantina Trivisa was named class of 2023 SIAM Fellow. She is recognized for “outstanding contributions to the analysis of nonlinear partial differential equations, exemplary service, and excellence in mentoring of students and postdocs.” SIAM chooses fellows for their exemplary research and service to the community while advancing the field of AMSC.

Konstantina Trivisa is an Applied Mathematician holding a joint position at UMD’s Department of Mathematics, the Institute for Physical Science and Technology (IPST), and the Center for Scientific Computation and Mathematical Modeling. Her research focuses on the interface between nonlinear PDE’s and continuum physics. This research applies to fluid dynamics, multiphase flows, continuum mechanics, material science, and mathematical biology. Trivisa served as the AMSC Program’s Direction from 2007 to 2018. She is currently the director of the Institute for Physical Science and Technology.
