Why did you choose the Math Department for graduate studies?
Why? Because math is the only discipline worthy of my intellect. Arts? Too subjective. Physics? Overlaps with math, but let’s be real, it’s just math in cosplay. Also, numbers don’t argue back, which makes them infinitely superior to humans.
What do you do in your free time to keep a work/life balance during graduate school?
I nap, judge humans from afar, and occasionally knock things off desks—balance achieved.
What is your favorite Maryland Tradition that you’ve done/want to do and why?
Watching Testudo get rubbed for luck is amusing—I don’t need luck, but it’s fun to see humans beg for it.
What advice would you give to incoming students?
Focus on mastering the basics—everything else falls into place when you have a solid foundation. And remember, you’ll never be as flawless as me, but that’s okay.
What was your proudest accomplishment so far at UMD and why?
My proudest moment? Being declared the official Math mascot, obviously. You’re welcome, UMD.
If your life were a math function, what would its graph look like?
A steep, unapproachable peak, followed by a flatline—because once you reach my level, there’s nowhere else to go.
What’s your favorite part of campus for a quiet study session?
The library– it has the comfiest chairs for napping.
